A collection of short inter-related stories. About young people conscripted in a distant future war. They learn the realities of warfare, discover and confront the ugly truth about themselves. And for some, there is solace, understanding and love. The title paraphrases Wilfred Owen's (1893-1918) "Anthem for a Doomed Youth". The setting might be different but the general message about warfare remains the same.
